Privacy policy
Effective 14 September 2026
Gable is built to work without an account. Your projects and their contents stay on your device unless you deliberately use a feature that sends information to an online service.
Who we are
This policy explains how Gable (“Gable”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use the Gable app, website, and related services. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to [email protected].
Information we handle
- Projects on your device. Project files and their contents are stored locally. They are not automatically uploaded to us.
- Optional usage and diagnostic data. This collection is off by default. If you enable it, Gable may send an anonymous installation identifier, session and event identifiers, opaque internal project or content identifiers, product interactions, timestamps, app version and platform, and coarse performance, reliability, and trace data. We do not intend this data to include project names, addresses, email addresses, prompts, conversations, or project contents.
- Service and security data. When the app or your browser contacts our services, servers and network providers may process IP address, request time, requested path, response status, and user-agent information. We use this to deliver and secure the service, diagnose failures, prevent abuse, and apply rate limits.
- Feedback and support. If you contact us, we receive the email address, message, and attachments you choose to provide.
- Purchases. Apple processes App Store payments. Where purchase validation is enabled, we may process signed transaction identifiers, product identifiers, and entitlement status. We do not receive your payment-card details.
- Optional online features. If you choose a feature that relies on an online provider, the information needed to fulfil that request may be sent to that provider. Depending on the release and feature, this could include location or address queries, or inputs submitted to an AI service. The app should explain or request permission before collecting sensitive information.
How we use information
We use information to provide requested features; operate, secure, and troubleshoot Gable; understand product usage when you have opted in; validate purchases; respond to you; and comply with law. We do not sell personal information, use it for third-party advertising, or track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Service providers
We use providers that process information on our behalf, including DigitalOcean for application hosting and monitoring, Cloudflare for DNS, network services, and backups, and Apple for app distribution and purchases. Analytics, location, or AI providers may process information only when the corresponding capability is present and used. Providers are expected to protect information consistently with their contracts and applicable law.
Retention
Optional analytics records are normally retained for up to 90 days. Diagnostic data follows the retention schedule of the configured diagnostic service. Operational logs are rotated as part of running the service. Encrypted or access-controlled backups may persist longer for recovery and are removed according to our backup lifecycle. Feedback is kept only as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain records, or meet legal obligations. You control local project data and can remove it in the app or by deleting the app.
Your choices and rights
You can turn usage and diagnostic collection off in Gable’s Settings. Doing so stops new collection and removes the anonymous identifier and queued telemetry from your device. You may ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information we can identify by emailing us. Because Gable does not currently use accounts and telemetry identifiers are intended to be anonymous, we may not be able to associate a telemetry record with you. See Privacy choices for practical instructions.
Security and international processing
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect information. No system is completely secure. Our providers may process information in Australia, the United States, and other countries where they operate, subject to appropriate safeguards and applicable law.
Children
Gable is not directed to children who cannot lawfully consent to the handling described here. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information should contact us.
Changes
We may update this policy as Gable changes. We will publish the revised policy here and update its effective date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice where appropriate.
